The Power of Teamwork

It is week 3 already and we are moving. We defy all odds against us. I cannot begin to overemphasize the power of teamwork. Collaboration in particular makes the entire cross-functional team dependent on one another. They understand that if one team lags then the entire team lags.

Great teams work together to accomplish great results. At Quest Realty, we have a crossfunctional team of young men and women brought together by #sideHustle internship, for the sole purpose of shipping a real estate-based product to the market. We created a space where the teams are not just accountable to work on their tasks but also to inculcate collaboration and the essence of teamwork.

This example was shown in week 2's progress report where the graphics design team had unresponsive teammates and just two Individuals were left to carter for the entire project. We had a few persons from the UI/UX team come in to help. As I like to call them "OUR KNIGHTS IN SHINING ARMOUR"

“Great things in business are never done by one person; they are done by a team of people.” — Steve Jobs

there are so many benefits I could draw from the power of teamwork, and some are hilarious actually trust me

  • Fosters creativity and learning

Creativity can inspire or drive teammates to thrive together and work together on an assigned task. When the team has new ideas they can sit together to brainstorm ideas to create more effective solutions. Teamwork also maximizes the chances of learning from each other experiences the things that you can use for the rest of your career. I in person have found this useful many times. i find myself doing some homework on tools I could never relate to on my own. This has helped broaden my knowledge on tricks and skills in my career.

  • Idea generation

Working together on a project will raise the enthusiasm for the whole team to bring out more ideas and foster both individual and team knowledge. Idea generation through teamwork can never be overstated. This is where brilliant inspiration and ideas are birthed.

  • Share the workload

It can be sometimes a bit challenging for teams working together towards a common goal to perform up to the mark always. But sharing workload on a project management software with team will make things quite easy for the team. When working in a team, the team members can do the part they are good at and for what they are qualified and they enjoy doing. Using a project management software, managers can assign work to each team member and the team can be more open to trying new things. Teamwork also allows for helping another team member to share the workload. When everyone is working towards the same goal, the amount of hard work is a lot more. So, a manager should always know the strengths of an employee and delegate the work in team accordingly to ensure maximum efficiency and a high-quality output.

  • Personality types

Remember when I said some benefits can be hilarious? this is it. Even though we may have different personality types in a team, there should be that balance. These personality types can range from the overthinker/critical thinker to the team member who takes things at their own pace. The key is having an understanding of these different personality types in people, and as team leaders and managers, you must exhibit the skill of carrying every single person along.

In conclusion, Teams that work well together will provide improved service and that will meet the needs of the customer or client. working with a team will boost productivity for the business in general. productivity increase greatly with more hands actively on deck
